RingConn now gives up to $90 off with smart ring trade-in

RingConn recently introduced a slimmer, more budget-friendly version of its second generation smart ring called the RingConn Gen 2 Air. Now it’s doubling down on incentives with a trade-in offer and an optional insurance plan called Care+ for Gen 2 buyers.

Trade-in program

The trade-in program applies to several types of wearables, not just from RingConn. First-generation RingConn owners can get up to $90 off a new ring. Those switching from competing products like the Oura Ring, Ultrahuman Ring, Galaxy Ring, Apple Watch or Galaxy Watch can claim up to $60, depending on what they’re trading in. The actual discount is confirmed at checkout and varies based on the device submitted.

This is a nice incentive. It might be an option for those holding on to a Gen 1 RingConn, to upgrade to the newer tech and slimmer design. If you are not sure if their device is eligible, RingConn suggests contacting their support team.

Insurance cover

This is not where today’s news ends. Another update is the new insurance offering. It’s branded as RingConn Care+ and is only available for purchases of either of the Gen 2 rings made from today onwards. So this isn’t retroactive and doesn’t apply to devices purchased earlier.

Care+ is essentially an extended protection plan. It covers loss, theft, and accidental damage—situations that aren’t typically included in standard warranties. Each plan allows for a one-time ring replacement during the covered period. Users can choose between a one-year plan for $29.99 or a two-year plan for $49.99. Prices exclude taxes and must be paid in the currency of the region where the transaction happens.

The Care+ option will appear within the app itself. From version 3.5.0 of the RingConn app, users will find the new section under the “Me” tab—between “Version Management” and “About My Ring.” Tapping “RingConn Care+” will lead to the insurance setup once the app update rolls out.

Both of these are nice additions. We did not review Gen 2 Air, but did review Gen 2 and Gen 1 devices. Both are definitely giving Oura a run for their money. The company has established itself as a important player in smart ring market. Plus, RingConn remains one of the few players not charging a subscription fee for app access, and these new extras might just give them another edge in the crowded smart ring space.
